A Little Bit of Sew...
So I have actually done a bit of sewing this weekend, refreshed from a few days off from The Children I nanny for.
Finished two bags- this is the first one, a shoulder bag for a friend:

I can't believe I will soon have FOUR quilt tops waiting to be quilted! That's what happens when everyone decides to get married and have babies at once :o) Good thing I enjoy this. Here is the lovely newest fabric drying on the line...look familiar, Big G?
Thank goodness for the genius layout plan on the quilt-along! Here is the final look for Char's quilt.
Loving the fat quarters for the next project drying in the breeze...they will turn into a Sparks baby quilt...of awesomeness!
It's been quite the quilt party (of me) around here this weekend. I'm trying to do as much as possible on neglected / in progress projects before I get a summer job. Today I finished up the quilt top for a spring patchwork that I started about two years ago! It's inspired by this lovely, much larger one at craftopia. Made from a combo of new fabric, old clothes and scraps...yum. Light isn't great, I'll have to get more photos outside in the sunshine.
I'm super excited about the bags I made over March Break! I think they look awesome...
First, I made two from this tutorial over at craftster.
Super excited to finally be using the 'aloha' fabric I bought in Hawaii a few years ago! I'm going to work hard to keep up with the quilt-along over at Oh Fransson! Here's a little picture of the fabric I'm using- this will be an "I don't care if you ever get married" present for my friend Charlotte :o)
I can't believe it, but I was named one of the winners in the SewMamaSew sewing tutorial contest with my little hobo lunch bag! So exciting!! I bring my lunch to work in mine every day so I can attest to the fact that they are very functional and a cute way to get to see your favourite fabric every day. Enjoy.
